Overview:

This is a McLaren Speedtail. It is a limited production hybrid sports car by McLaren Automotive. It was revealed in 2018 as a fourth addition to Ultimate Series which includes Senna, P1 and the F1. The car is also part of the 18 new cars or derivatives that McLaren will launch as part of its Track22 business plan. Its testing was taken place at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Only 108 examples were built with a price tag of £2.1 million. Due to its use of camera as mirrors and no side airbags, Speedtail is not road legal in USA and is used and driven around in USA under the “Show and Display Law”, which exempts cars that are “historically or technologically significant" from NHTSA safety standards but requires that owners not drive the vehicle more than 2,500 miles in a 12-month period

Exterior:

The exterior is a 2-door styled coupe and the doors are Dihedral doors which open up via button from inside. It also features retractable camera which substitutes for the side-mirrors. It is designed in such a way to make it as aerodynamic as possible to make it reach 403km/h(250mph). The front wheel is fitted with carbon fibre static covers to further reduce drag. On the exterior, it features hydraulically actuated active rear aerodynamic control surfaces, which are formed in flexible carbon fibre and are an integral part of the rear clamshell. It also has a rear and front trunk with a fair amount of space for a supercar.

Interior:

The interior is a 3-seater layout similar to that of the McLaren F1 where the driver sits at the center. The interior of the Speedtail features "directional leather finish" which McLaren says, “makes it easy to slide into the seat but then subtly holds the occupant in place while they drive.” The driver get’s digital driver’s display along with two screens of the side of the interior dashboard to mimic the side-mirrors as it uses cameras. It also features "Titanium Deposition Carbon Fibre", which is when "a micron-thin layer of titanium is fused directly onto the weave and becomes an integral part of the carbon fibre’s construction.", as well as Thin-Ply Technology Carbon Fibre (TPT), consisting of countless 30-micron thick layers of carbon fibre. The company also offers bespoke luggage for Speedtail owners, a practice implemented when the F1 went on sale. It also has electrochromic glass to protect the occupants from sunlight from the panoramic roof and also eliminates the use of sun-visors.

Power and Output:

The Speedtail is powered by a 4L twin-turbocharged V8 paired with a parallel hybrid system to make combined 1035HP (310HP by electric motor) along with 7-speed Graziano dual-clutch automatic transmission. It produces a total of 1150Nm(848lb-ft) of torque at 5500rpm. It has a top speed of 403km/h(250mph) and can go from 0-299km/h (0-186mph) in 12.8s. Due to it being a hybrid the car recharges while driving, though a wireless charging pad is included with the car, trickle-charging it when not in use.
