This is a Porsche 997 GT2 RS. It is a high-performance sports car by German car manufacturer Porsche AG. It is based on the 911 Turbo lineup, but lighter and more sportier than it. It is the successor to the 996 GT2 and was in production from 2007-2012. The RS version was in 4th of May in 2010. A total of 500 units of 997 GT2 RS was produced globally. Th RS version is not only faster, but lighter than the standard 997 GT2 by 70kg(154lb). A German Porsche test driver Walter Röhrl lapped the Nürburgring Nordshleife on a public day of 7 minutes, 32 seconds in the standard 997 GT2. Currently it's being success-ed by the 991 GT2 RS.
The exterior is similar to the 911 turbo from this era. The difference between the 911 turbo and 997 GT2 RS is the focus in weight reduction both in exterior and interior. The exterior had many body panels replaced by carbon fibre or fibre-glass. The Porsche emblem was replaced by a sticker instead for weight reduction. It also has more vents for ventilation and aerodynamic purposes. The rear has twin-exhaust pipe system. The front splitter also helps in creating downforce and is made of carbon fibre. The wheels is centre-lock wheels made of aluminium and it gives rigidity and strength to the wheels and vehicle.
The interior is same as that of a 911 Turbo from that era. The materials are replaced with Alcantara for weight reduction, the steering wheel has a piece of clothing to help you know the centre-point. The seats in this car are bucket seats to give you grip while driving on or off track. The rear seats from this car is also deleted and replaced with a roll cage which give safety and rigidity to the car. This has a proper infotainement and radio system and the technology is same as other Porsche models from that era. The clock also has a lap timer to time your lap times and they are saved in the infotainement system. The guage cluster has a little screen that shows the oil level and tyre pressure. The instrument panel has some button which includes buttons for traction control and stability control and a button for both. This car is meant to be a driver's car i.e., only people who have skills can drive it. Everything else is same as that of a 911 Turbo.
The 997 GT2 RS was powered by a 3.6L water-cooled twin-turbocharged flat 6 producing 612HP at 6500rom and 700Nm(516 lb-ft) of torque at 2200rpm. It had a top speed of 205mph(330km/h) and went from 0-62mph(0-100km/h) in 3.5s. It weighed 70kg(154lb) less than the standard GT2. It uses a 6-speed manual gearbox. For front braking system the car uses a 6-piston monobloc aluminium fixed calipers with ventilated carbon-ceramic disc and ABS. For rear braking system it uses a 4-piston monobloc aluminium fixed caliper with ventilated carbon-ceramic discs and ABS.
