Overview:

This is a Porsche Carrera GT. It is a mid-engined two-door sports car by German Automobile Manufacturer Porsche AG. It was produced from 2004-2007. It was no.1 on the list of Top Sports Car of the 2000s and no.8 for Top Sports Car of All Time. Due to the advanced technology of this car and the chassis development, this car was awarded “The Best of What's New” by Popular Science magazine. The car was designed by Harm Lagaay as a concept for the 2000 Paris Motor Show and then launched as a production vehicle in 2004 with original production of 1500 units but only 1270 units were ever built until 2007. As for the engine, it was a V10 originally built for the 1992 Footwork Formula 1 team but later shelved as they pulled out of Formula 1 and later brought back for Le Mans Prototype series.

Exterior:

The Carrera GT was made as a two-door sports car with removable hard-top which can be stored in the front. The car is also known for the advanced chassis it used at the time like it's pure carbon-fibre monocoque and subframe. It has large functioning air intakes on the sides along with large damps to cool the V10. The rear wing of this car is electronically controlled and comes up at a speed of 113km/h (70mph) and are made of carbon-fibre for weight reduction. The wheels on this car are centre-lock wheels. The rear has twin-exhaust which is designed like a rocket thruster.

Interior:

As you enter the car, there is a door sill plate with “Carrera GT” written on it and the interior is trimmed in mostly soft leather with gear-knob made up of beech wood but later a carbon-fibre option was added. The placement of the gear-knob is near the steering wheel for quicker gear shifts. It had Bose audio system and a navigation system as standard and as a typical Porsche model, the ignition is placed on the left of the steering wheel. The door has a pocket which can be used to store small items. There is a space behind the seats which can be used to store bags. The interior is fitted by race-bucket seats with the cushions on the base removable. The window switches are fitted on the centre control stack rather than on the doors. The guage cluster is made analog styled as expected by a car from this era. There is also a hole beneath the centre control stack where the CD player is fitted.

Power and Output:

The Carrera GT is powered by a 5.7L V10 mated with a 6-speed manual which produces 603HP at 8000rpm and 590Nm (435lb-ft) of torque at 5750rpm. It has a 0-100km/h(0-62mph) in 3.57s (3.9s stated by manufacturer) and has a top speed of 334km/h (208mph) but according to the manufacturer it has a top speed of 330km/h (205mph). It attempted a Nürburgring Nordschleife time of  7.28 minutes. It is fitted with Porsche's Carbon-fibre reinforced silicon carbide ceramic braking system with carbon ceramic discs both at front and rear and 19inch 5-spoke alloy wheels on front and 20inch 5-spoke alloy wheels at rear.
