Overview

This is an Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm. It is the sports version of the Giulia Quadrifoglio and limited to just 500 units. It is inspired from the 1965 GTA. The word GTA stands for Gran Turismo Alleggerita where "Alleggerita" means lightened as this weighs significantly less than a standard Giulia Quadrifoglio. Alfa Romeo is releasing for their 110th anniversary. It has a 540HP. This car is basically a collector's item as mentioned by Alfa Romeo and this GTAm version is a strip down sports sedan as it's a lightweight version. It starting price is around $159,787 before taxes. Not much can be said as there has been no proper walk-around of this car due to the quarantine.

Exterior

The exterior is similar to the standard Giulia Quadrifoglio, the difference or the changes here is the use of carbon fibre to decrease the weight and rigidity. The rear wings are bigger in size and are made of carbon fibre for more downforce as this is more powerful version. The front has an active front splitter so that in high speeds and bigger rear diffuser, this car can get good downforce and stay in control. It has an upgraded side-skirts, a 20inch centre lock wheels wider arches to accommodate wider wheels and tires. It also gets a new centre Aitkrapovic titanium exhaust. The side mirror caps are carbon fibre and have Italian flag on them. The exterior is designed in partnership with Sauber Engineering.

 Interior

The interior is a strip down sports down with race-bucket sats made of carbon fibre and Alcantara, a 6-point racing harness and the rear seats are deleted, instead there is a roll cage and a helmet slot where you can store the helmet and also get a livery matched open helmet. There is no rear door access, instead just Alcantara and the front door panels have carbon fibre and Alcantara with fabric door pulls instead of handles. You also get an Alpinestars set of racing suits and shoes. You also get a factory-installed fire extinguisher for safety. The paddle shifters are column monted Aluminium paddle shifters which are inspired by F1 cars, which means they don't move along the steering wheels and are in the same place which beneficial on the track as you know where they are. The start/stop buttons are steering wheel mounted along with other interior controls. The infotainement is updated on all the Giulia models for more responsiveness and it supports Apple Carplay® and Android Auto. There is Alcantara on the dashboard with 'GTAm' stitched , glovebox(yes this car has a glovebox) and carbon-fibre centre console. Other interior features are the ones found on the Standard Giulia Quadrifoglio.

Power and Output

The Giulia GTAm is powered by a 2.9L bi-turbocharged V6 with 540HP and it goes from 0-100km/h(0-62mph) in 3.6s. The torque is not yet revealed. It has a weight of 1520kg. The rear windows are made of lighter Lexan polycarbonate. The driveshafts are made of carbon-fibre for weight reduction. The wheels are 20inch centre locked wheels with new springs, shock absorbers and bushings. It is only available in RWD(Rear-Wheel Drive) configuration and 8-speed automatic transmission. The information is not complete at the time of making of this review since this was unveiled in starting of 2020 with no proper walk-around due to the virus(you know what I am talking about).
