This is the Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4. It is a mid-engine sports car by French automobile manufacturer Bugatti. It was named after French racecar driver Pierre Veyron. It was designed and developed in Germany by Volkswagen Group. The original version has a top speed of 407km/h (253mph). The Super Sport Version was recognised by Guinness World Records as the fastest street legal production car with a top speed of 431.072km/h (267.856mph). The Bugatti Veyron was discontinued in 2014 but the production of the Special Edition models continued till 2015.
The exterior was designed by Josef Kaban of Volkswagen . The Veyron is a mid-engine 2-door coupé. It had undergone numerous concepts from 1998-2000 before the official production model was unveiled in Detroit Motor Show in 2000. The car uses a Michelin tyre made specifically for the Veyron. In conclusion we can say that the Veyron has a timeless design to make it as a collectors item, and the price of a Veyron when new was $1,126,537 and today the price has gone upto $1,948,605. The design was revised over the years till 2015 by adding Daylight Running Lamps (DRL), replacing headlight and tail-light components.
Despite the fact that it is a high performance sports-car, the interior of the Veyron is very similar to a Bentley. Exquisite leather upholstery (along with carbon fibre), comfortable door aperture and even a rear-view mirror-mounted reversing camera surprisingly makes it a liveable machine. Here's an example on how Bugatti did not compromise on luxury and 'no-expense-spared', it's indicator stalks cost as much as a small hatchback, made up of single magnesium/aluminium alloy. Even the paddle shifts are made up of magnesium. The centre console is also derived from a single aluminium piece, featuring a guilloché finishing, a technique used on exposed surfaces of early Bugatti's engines.
The Veyron is powered by a 8.0L, quad-turbocharged W16 engine producing 1000HP and 922lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 253.81mph. The car has 10 radiators alongside other cooling components to keep the temperature of the powertrain within the safe limits. It is also equipped with a 7-Speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, capable of shifting in just 150milliseconds, faster than the track only Ferrari FXX Evo of the same period. Due to it's great power output, the Veyron comes equipped with an equally powerful braking system, with 400mm front, 380mm rear carbon ceramic discs, paired with an 8-pot front and 6-pot rear AP Racing Calipers. Along with the traditional braking system it comes equipped with air brake, capable of switching from 15° to 55° in 0.4s. It also has front and rear double-wishbone suspension system with a fast acting hydraulic system, following the Veyron to alter ride height depending on the conditions, for better stability, efficiency and practicality. The tyres are specifically made for Veyron's 250+mph speed and forces encountered by it with the width of 365mm rear and 265mm front, with each tyre wrapped around a set of polished OZ wheels.
