This is the Koenigsegg Gemera. It is a limited production four-seater plug-in hybrid grand tourer by Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg Automotive AB. This car is a proper four-seater as demonstrated by Koenigsegg, four grown up adults can sit in this car. The Gemera was designed by Christian von Koenigsegg and Sasha Selipanov and is expected to launch by this year and will have a total of 300 units. It was unveiled on an online broadcast by Koenigsegg at the cancelled Geneva International Motor Show. The review might be short as there has not been a public delivery yet to refer to.
The car has two big size dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors, which are big enough for people to access rear seats without moving the seats forward. The car does not have a b-pillar bcause it's a 2-door car and not having a b-pillar gives easy access to the back seats and for this the body of this car is very strong. The exterior, there are no side-mirrors visible as there are no side-mirrors, it is replaced by the cameras and you can get the display inside. The car is as practical as a standard 4-door 4-seater. The rear storage can fit 3-suitcases, and the front can fit 1-suitcase which is pretty good for a car of this caliber. The wheels on this car are centre-lock wheels and are made of hollow carbon-fibre and are the lightest wheel used in a production car. The windshield wiper does not sit on the bonnet of the car but is actually on the middle of the windshield for better aerodynamics. The rear exhaust comes out from above directly from the engine just like in a Porsche 918. It is shaped like a glass canopy, which gives this car a distinctive look along with better aerodynamics. All the vents on this car is functional and serves a purpose and that purpose is to give better peformance.
The interior of this car is surprisingly spacious. It has complete 4-seater configuration. The door opens and gives access to front and back seat together. The car does not have a b-pillar, so seat belts are integrated to it's carbon-fibre bucket seats due to this reason. The interior has two screens which show the outside as there are no side-mirrors, and has Koenigsegg's new gyroscopic guage cluster. The infotainement system is fairly normal one with Apple Carplay®, Wi-Fi and wireless charging, both at front and the back. The car also has 14-speakers for a good sound experience. The car also has 8-cupholders. 4 in front of which 2 of them are cold and 2 are heated and same for the rear. The window is a big glass piece but only half of it comes down but that part is big enough for use.
The Gemera is powered by a 2.0L 3-cylinder Koenigsegg Tiny Friendly Giant (TFG) and three electrical motors producing a combined 1677HP (600HP by combustion engine and 1077 by it's electrical motors) at 7500rpm and 3500Nm (2581.4lb-ft ) of torque (443Nm from combustion engine and 3057 from electric motors) at 7000rpm. The car can run on both E85 bio fuel and gasoline. The exhaust at the rear are titanium exhaust system by Akrapovič. The front has 21inch carbon-fibre wheels with 6-piston ventilated carbon ceramic discs and rear has 22inch with 4-piston ventilated carbon ceramic discs. The vehicle sits on double wishbones and adjustable gas-hydraulic suspensions and has electronically adjustable height.
